Dear all,

We are going to have our first prayer meeting of this semester on March, 6 at Pan's residence as before. The time will be at 5:00 pm, we are so sorry
that we have deferred it until almost half of the semester has gone by as
prayer is such a vital spiritual power we have to rely on.

In the prayer meeting, we shall keep remembering the spiritual welfare of the Chinese community in DeKalb, the study, the future of our students and
our faculties, in particular, their deepest spiritual needs whether they recognize it or not. May His Spirit really work in the deepest hidden mind
of all us, in those places where even ourselves are not aware of. May all
of us be awaken up spiritually so that we know what is most needed and what is most pressing in our lives.

There is another thing we need to remember in our prayers. It is about
John and Ruth Peterson, they were pastors of the Baptist Campus Ministry.
They have always been such good friends among the Chinese community that a
lot of us should not find unfamiliar of. Recently they are in their family
crises, within one week's time, both of Jiya (their younger daugther) and
Florence (their South African foster daughter) have been diagnosed with
cancer. In the case of Jiya, she has a stage 3 colon cancer, chemotheraphy
has to be conducted in order to shrink down the tumor before it could be
removed. As for Florence, she has a tumor in her pancrea and has only a few months left. We could not imagine what a blow it must have been to John and Ruth who are already at their late seventies. We pray that they
could stand firm as inspiring example to us (which they have always been).

" In the day of prosperity be joyful, and in day of pain and adversity be
thoughtful (i.e. thinking deeply about what your life is all about). God
has made the one as well as the other, so that Man may not find out what
will be after him."  Ecclesiastes 7/14.

" Please teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom."
by  Moses in Psalm 90/12.

" I have said this to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you
have tribulation; but be of good cheer for I have overcome the world." by  Jesus Christ in John 16/33.

The Lord bless you all.
