Subject: An Invitation for Pass-over Meal
To: Wei Luo <wluo33@gmail.com>
Dear all,
April, 2 after sundown, is the Passover, an important fesitval in
the Jewish lunar Calender, it is the time the Israelites commemorate their liberation from their captivity in Egypt. In the Christian Calendar it is also an important day, because in the evening right before Jesus was betrayed, it was also a Passover evening, when Jesus had his "Last Super" before He went to the cross and died for our Sin, so as to set us free from the captivity of Sin and Death (something that the
Passover Historic Incident of Israel symbolizes).
This coming April, 2, the Baptist Campus Ministry has invited us for
the "Sedar Meal" which is a simulation of the Passover Meal of what
Jesus and His disciples did the night before His crucifixion. It is a very good learning experience for all of us. It starts at 5:00 pm (roughly after sundown, which is what the Israelites would start their
Passover Meal), to us it is also good, so that we would not end up too late. The place is where the Chinese Bible Class used to meet every Saturday. You are cordially invited to attend and share this wonderful
experience with us, please try your best to make it.
Also, since there are two more Christian communities besides us, they
need to know ahead of time an estimate on the number of participants. Please let us know if you are interested BEFORE MARCH, 25.
You could give your name to Luowei by replying this email or by emailing
to Kwong at:
kwong@math.niu.edu
The Lord bless you all.
The DeKalb Chinese Bible Class.
p.s. It is not a full meal like our regular potluck dinner, but mainly a
ceremonial meal, the focus is in the ceremony we go through by pondering
on the deep meanings behind the different parts of the process. Please eat and fill up yourself at least half-full before you come (although a
small portion of mutton or lamp-leg will be served :)
